aftercare
Congratulations you got through the tattoo,
just a few more things to do before you can finally enjoy your new tattoo.

Tattoos are wounds, so, you would have to treat them as such. It goes through the scabbing process. Tattoos generally fully heal in 6-8 weeks. The scabbing process usually happens around the first 2 weeks. These first 2 weeks are crucial to the healing process of the tattoo.
Everyone's body is different and everyone heals differently.

Here are things to remember while your tattoo heals

I usually only recommend keeping on the bandage for 2 days. My tattoos don't bleed that much and you don't want the second skin bandage really dried up against the fresh tattoos. You can shower with the bandage on

For clients with sensitive skin who can't have a second skin bandage. Onlv keep the saran wrap for 4 hours at most.
And proceed with the aftercare right away.

NEVER REBANDAGE YOUR TATTOOS.

Once the wrap is off, You can proceed with the aftercare:

-Wash the tattoo with a gentle antibacterial soap, circular motion, once or twice a day.
-Pat dry with clean paper towels or air dry.
-Moisturize the tattoo with a very thin layer of vitamin a&d ointment or trusted tattoo balms. (no aquaphor or vaseline)

Things to not do.
- Touch the fresh tattoo with unwashed hands, and don't let anyone else touch it other than vou
- Do not expose the fresh tattoo to the sun, (wear loose clothing that covers the tattoo if you're going to be out in the sun.
- Stay away from water: no swimming, taking baths, sauna for 6-8weeks. Take quick showers, no hot water
- No Alcohol the first few days,
- A healing tattoo will be really itchy, do not scratch or pick on the scabs.
- No heavy physical activity, you definitely don't want any muscle contractions on the tattooed area, after a 5-7 days you can go back to working out lightly.
- You should be able to go back to vour normal routine once the scabbing process is done (2 weeks)
- Stay away from furry friends, fur harbors bacteria.

SECOND SKIN BANDAGE
Leave your bandage on for 2 days
OK to shower, but no soaking!
Your bandage may fill with an ‘ink sack’ of blood & plasma, this is normal!
If your bandage is leaking take the bandage off
Taking off your bandage:
-
In a warm shower, pick a corner and pull slowly perpendicular from the skin
-
Proceed with dry healing instructions for the remainder of the healing period
You may experience an allergic reaction to the second skin bandage adhesive, if you are experiencing excessive itchiness or a burning sensation (especially around the corners of the bandage), remove the bandage immediately and proceed with dry heal instructions.
DRY HEALING
Wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day with a gentle antibacterial soap (ex. Dial GOLD bar soap) Pat dry with a clean and dry paper towel.
Moisturize with a THIN layer of aftercare ointment, too much will cause irritation! Wipe excess ointment with a clean and dry paper towel.
Having pets, excessive sweating, or dirty environments may require you to wash your tattoo more often.
Flaking and shininess on your tattoo is normal!
Do NOT pick or scratch your skin
SIGNS OF INFECTION
Seek medical care immediately if you are showing signs and symptoms of infection this includes, but is not limited to, redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site
